ISSUE/PROBLEM
The Memory Enable Jumper block, figure 3-9 page 3-13, was incorrectly
pictured in the NetWare Installation Supplement for 3Com EtherLink and
EtherLink Plus manual (all revisions).
3Com Corporation has introduced a new version of the EtherLink Plus board
for use in file servers. The new version is labelled EtherLink Plus
2012. If you have this version refer to the following additions to locate
the components, select the transceiver type, and make the configuration
settings on your EtherLink Plus version 2012 boards.
If you have version 1194 boards, follow the instructions in the
supplement for EtherLink Plus boards. (There are instructions for
installing an EtherLink Plus board in both the NetWare Installation
Supplement for 3Com EtherLink and EtherLink Plus and the NetWare
Installation Supplement for MICOM-Interlan.
Shunt plug is mounted on the bottom two rows of pins for the default BNC
setting. To select the board's DIX connector (for connecting the board
to an external transceiver installed on thick Ethernet cable), pry the
shunt plug up with an IC puller, a screwdriver, or some other appropriate
tool. Carefully remove the shunt plug and remount it on the top two rows
of pins to select the DIX connector.
